The first year with a new baby can seem both mind-numbingly boring and mentally exhausting - often both at the same time. If you want to raise your child in a way that's Right - for you! - From The Start, we'll help you figure out what's important to you so you can focus your attention where it matters, and really relax into parenting.

We are here for you.

We are here for you.

If this is your first child, you've probably spent a lot of time getting ready.

The crib, the rocker, the black-and-white mobile to provide just the right amount of visual stimulation.

But what will you actually do with the baby?

How will you support their development without making yourself an anxious wreck?

If you already have a child, perhaps you know that things need to be different this time around.

If you poured everything into your first, you'll see that you just can't give your second the same amount of attention - there simply isn't enough of you to go around.

How will you help the first child adjust, and also help meet the second child's needs?

"I am so jealous (but excited for others)... that there is something like this for first time mothers. I wish I had it with my first born as it would have been so helpful for my nerves and anxiety surrounding my new profession of 'child raiser!"

The modules are designed so you can listen to them in one big hit or if you're time short, just do a short section and easily come back to where you left off. My questions were answered quickly on the community platform.

And the informaiton in the course - WOW, well it's just the bomb!  It is so reassuring for me that I can finally trust someone without having to trawl through the research papers people provide for the basis of their advice to see if they have taken all things into consideration, or have they just chosen the specific facts that support their point!

In addition to this Jen, Hannah and Kelty always consider the most important thing: our child. They remember that our child is a person who deserves to be listened to, understood and cared for no matter their age, and that through your role as their parent, you are setting the groundwork to encourage them to become a resilient, respectful and confident person that can survive anything that this unpredictable world throws at them!"

Hi!  We're Hannah, Kelty, and Jen!

Between us we have five children under the age of six. We came together to create this course because we'd been focused on helping parents of slightly older children, figuring that parents of babies had bought the books they would need and didn't need more help.

One parent told us:
"I wish it was clear during my pregnancy that a baby-led approach is evidence-based and less drama. It's a travesty that this approach isn't more widely available to learn about and choose to follow. I read so many pregnancy books and they all gave me the 'wrong' information in hindsight. I really feel there need to be more PREGNANCY resources on gentle/baby-led approaches because in my first pregnancy I only read things with 'pregnancy' in the title, so I missed all the resources I really needed because it seemed like they were for much later on."

When we heard this, we knew exactly what resources we wanted to create: something that would help parents support their child's development, gently and effectively, without stressing about every single tiny decision.

We called the course Right From The Start because we wanted to emphasize the importance of taking the right approach for you and your family.

We won't tell you the one right way to raise your child - because there isn't one. But we will help you find a path that feels uniquely right for you.

"As a second-time mum, Right From The Start provided a great dose of reality, grounded in research which gave me both great ideas to inform my parenting choices and above all an incredible sense of support and genuine, vulnerable connection with other parents having the same kinds of challenges, fears and doubts as I do.

This sense of community has also helped me finally become more capable of self-compassion as I navigate what I consider to be the hardest job anyone will ever do."

- Claire B.

A strong start, a strong foundation.

If you're expecting a baby and want to make sure you're 'getting it right' from the start... Or if you're already in your baby's first year and feel exhausted, stressed, and worried that you've been 'doing it wrong,' this course offers you the warm reassurance and simple tools to move forward with clarity and confidence on your parenting journey.

Understand what scientific research says about baby's sleep, attachment, feeding and other essential topics.
Know that you're doing the best you can for your baby's development.
Find your sense of yourself again (or maintain it if you're not yet a parent).
Let go of the overwhelm and worry that there isn't enough of you to go around.
Find support and strength in a community of like-minded parents and parents-to-be.
Not just focused on quick fixes or daily challenges, this course will help you lay the critical groundwork for a lifelong relationship with your child based in trust, collaboration, and respect.

Crafted taking into account your full, busy life.

"This Right From The Start Course has been super interesting and gratifying for me!
When I signed up I'd never heard of group coaching and wasn't sure what to expect, so I've found the calls to be surprisingly intimate and constructive. The sense of community is palpable, with all these mamas in different yet very relatable circumstances.
I love listening to the course modules and will likely revisit them more than once in the days and years to come. Jen's depth of research and perspective is astounding, and Hannah and Kelty bring so much wisdom and grace to otherwise daunting issues. So glad to have found this!"

Why sign up for the Right From The Start Course?

If you're expecting a baby and haven't thought about anything beyond the birth aside from buying furniture and clothes, you haven't prepared for the most important parts of parenting.

face

If you're expecting a baby and you haven't thought about things like:

*  Why babies cry (and how you'll respond when it happens)

*  How you'll navigate (and perhaps even be OK with) less sleep than you ever thought possible

*  What you'll do with them all day (and how this sets them up to either be glommed onto you or willing to play independently later)

*  How diaper changes can actually be connecting time rather than disgusting chore time, you're not really ready

*  What you can do no to baby-proof your relationship

... then you've missed a lot (it happened to us too!).

sentiment_dissatisfied

If you already have a baby and you're not yet prepared for:

*  Jealousy and anger from the older sibling

*  Meeting both children's competing needs when it seems like there isn't enough of you to go around

*  Ways you will have to do things differently this time around because you can't pay as much attention to a second baby as you did the first

*  Seeing each child as unique and getting beyond 'that's not fair!' to helping each child feel deeply seen

*  Maintaining some sense of your own self as you get outnumbered

...then you're not quite ready.

"The 'Right from the Start' course has been a wonderful way to connect with other parents to think through perspective shifts in our parenting and also to get support through the tough newborn stage.

I was already aware of "respectful parenting" approaches and practiced them with my first child. This course was a good refresher and provided new ideas for ways of approaching my parenting that helped me feel more sane while caring for two kids at home in a pandemic!

I so appreciated the opportunity to learn from Jen, Hannah, and Kelty as they have thought so deeply about how we can show up better for our kids, I am constantly learning from them. I would highly recommend the course to anyone expecting a new baby - I'm planning on gifting it to my brother and sister-in-law when the time comes."

The 'Relax Into Parenting' Guarantee

Sign up for the course.
Watch (or listen, or read) the content. Join the coaching calls

If you realize that the course is not helping you to relax into parenting with the child you're expecting or already have, we'll give you your money back at any time during the eight-week course - guaranteed.

Just email support@yourparentingmojo.com and we'll take care of you immediately. No questions asked!

Questions that parents just like you have asked before jumping into Right From The Start

1. How long will it take to do the course?

The nine modules of content are released over eight weeks (the first is an introduction so you'll likely get through it fairly quickly, and we don't want to keep you waiting for that all-important module on sleep!). We've designed each module of content to be consumed in about an hour if you watch the videos; less if you read or skim the transcripts.

You can also choose to join a 90 minute coaching call every other week (or watch the recordings).

2. What are group coaching calls like?

We don't have a set agenda for the coaching calls, and we don't use them to teach new material. Instead we gauge how the folks who join the call are feeling and what's most important in their lives in that moment. Sometimes that's related to the current module's content, but sometimes we might help a parent navigate the stress of supporting a mentally ill parent (while parenting a toddler and a newborn) or help a parent to process a new insight about a childhood memory. We show up with our whole selves, and we invite you to do the same so we can laugh, cry, and learn together.

3. Do I have to be on Facebook to join the community?

No! Our community is hosted on a distraction-, ad-, and doom scrollling-free platform! Come on in :-)

4. How long will I be able to access the course content?

How about forever? Your access to the videos, audio, transcripts, and coaching call recordings on our beautiful custom-built learning platform never expires. The community is active for the eight weeks of the workshop and is archived at the end.

5. Do you offer a discount?

We offer sliding scale pricing, which we hope provides opportunities for people to work with us no atter what their financial circumstances. That said, we never want cost to be the only reason that someone who wants to work with us can't work with us. If even the lowest sliding scale price isn't doable for you, just send a brief email explaining your circumstances to support@yourparentingmojo.com and propose a price that feels like a stretch for you, but won't prevent you from putting food on the table, and we'll try to make it work if we can.

If you see that you move more resources than most and are able to contribute at the My Cupe Is Overflowing level, you'll support us in providing this access. Thank you!
