We're back from an incredible three months on the road during the Fall of '23 - including visits to Boulder County Colorado, Vancouver BC, Seattle & Portland. We connected with you all in so many meaningful ways, it's hard not to get excited for what the future holds.

Life on the road is all consuming, so we're playing catch up to a long 'to do' list - including updating this page and creating a new one for collaborating & planning 2024. If you already know you'd like the tour to come your way, please get in touch!
Thank you so much to Your Parenting Mojo listeners and members who helped make Fall '23 a huge success - we hope to see more of you in 2024!

THE SECRET IS OUT
"Treehouse Learning hosted a series of workshops for both teachers and parents with Jen Lumanlan on her Parenting Beyond Power book and framework so now we have a shared language to address problems together.

Within our first few weeks of school after the workshops, we applied this content across multiple dimensions of interpersonal relationships, and not just in the classrooms and via the parent/child or teacher/child relationships! A teacher left the program early in the school year, and we used what we'd learned in Jen's workshops to navigate an otherwise emotional and challenging situation by recognizing, communicating about and addressing everyone's needs through this abrupt transition - children, parents, teachers, and admin staff.

Parents shared with us that these same tools also helped them to improve communication in their families - both with their children and far beyond this as well! They can now understand interpersonal challenges in an entirely different way, and can navigate formerly intractable conflicts with spouses and their own parents with grace and compassion, as they work to meet everyone's needs."

"Our preschool was honored to have Jen Lumanlan at our Parent Education night. Jen is a master teacher: approachable, knowledgeable, accepting, and FUN! Her message is clear and her parenting framework is a tool that can be used with children, but also with adults and parents at our school. We are excited to put it to use in our community. Thanks Jen!"

"Jen has an incredible ability to span BIG ideas down to small, step-by-step, practical strategies while simultaneously providing opportunity for reflection and self-learning. I left the workshop feeling strengthened in my ability to approach difficult situations, having a better understanding of the play between children's needs and my own, with a deeper awareness of the connections between White Supremacy, patriarchy and capitalism in my relationships and teaching practice."

"Thank you for a great workshop last night. You have an amazing insight and empathy that helps get to the heart of difficulties and I saw you pivot and help shape people's responsiveness and shift perspectives. You're doing important work, and I'm grateful."

'23 Tour Kickoff
BOULDER, CO  |  VANCOUVER, BC  |  SEATTLE, WA  |  PORTLAND, OR
(Aug. - Nov. 2023)
Dedicated podcast listeners in Vancouver, BC tipped Jen off to a very special kid & family-centric book store with meaningful goals and aspirations for a hopeful future - Kinder Books. Here Jen sits with parents in one of a few intimate workshops at this gem of place.
Preschools are hubs for building community as we grow alongside each other as parents. Jen's parent workshop at Broadmoor Preschool, a play-based, parent cooperative preschool in the California Bay Area, kicked off the school year by creating real vulnerability and intimacy between parents - setting the stage for deeper relationships to develop.
Jen with the teachers at Treehouse Learning after two full days of workshops. Amy Benson May (on Jen's left), second generation leader & steward of the family-owned early education center, has listened to the Your Parenting Mojo podcast for years and has participated in Jen's workshops and memberships.

When she heard about the book tour, Amy immediately hatched a plan to bring the Parenting Beyond Power parent, teacher & community workshops to Boulder County, Colorado.
In addition to teacher, parent & community workshops, Jen and Treehouse Learning hosted a special parent discussion where a small group of parents agreed to talk on camera about culture & parenting before and after a special workshop. Conversations got deep and real, and the parents created the beginning of a lasting friendship. We're extremely grateful to everyone who has joined us on this journey as we hold space for each other and collectively strive for a better tomorrow.
Parents from South Seattle College Cooperative Preschools getting coached through real-life struggles they are experiencing with their kids, using repeatable tools & strategies from the book they can implement as soon as they get home.
Jen welcoming parents for a workshop at the warm & tightly knit Vancouver Co-Housing community.
A illuminating conversation (coming before end of the year) - Jen and Moms Against Racism Canada (MAR) founder Kerry Cavers chat at the intersection of culture & parenting -  Vancouver, B.C.
Jen with Anne Uebbing, owner of Kinder Books
Leading a teacher workshop at the very preschool Carys attended - Heart's Leap North - Berkeley, CA
Group coaching during an evening parent workshop at play-based parent cooperative Broadmoor Preschool
Jen leading a workshop for White parents of 'racialized' children at a special weekend-long Mom's Against Racism (MAR) Canada family retreat on Hornby Island, British Columbia
