Dedicated podcast listeners in Vancouver, BC tipped Jen off to a very special kid & family-centric book store with meaningful goals and aspirations for a hopeful future - Kinder Books. Here Jen sits with parents in one of a few intimate workshops at this gem of place.
Preschools are hubs for building community as we grow alongside each other as parents. Jen's parent workshop at Broadmoor Preschool, a play-based, parent cooperative preschool in the California Bay Area, kicked off the school year by creating real vulnerability and intimacy between parents - setting the stage for deeper relationships to develop.
Jen with the teachers at Treehouse Learning after two full days of workshops. Amy Benson May (on Jen's left), second generation leader & steward of the family-owned early education center, has listened to the Your Parenting Mojo podcast for years and has participated in Jen's workshops and memberships.

When she heard about the book tour, Amy immediately hatched a plan to bring the Parenting Beyond Power parent, teacher & community workshops to Boulder County, Colorado.
In addition to teacher, parent & community workshops, Jen and Treehouse Learning hosted a special parent discussion where a small group of parents agreed to talk on camera about culture & parenting before and after a special workshop. Conversations got deep and real, and the parents created the beginning of a lasting friendship. We're extremely grateful to everyone who has joined us on this journey as we hold space for each other and collectively strive for a better tomorrow.

More news to come from our visit to Treehouse - and many, many thanks to Amy & her team for their belief in and support for Parenting Beyond Power!
A illuminating conversation (coming before end of the year) - Jen and Moms Against Racism Canada (MAR) founder Kerry Cavers chat at the intersection of culture & parenting -  Vancouver, B.C.
Jen with Anne Uebbing, owner of Kinder Books
Leading a teacher workshop at the very preschool Carys attended - Heart's Leap North - Berkeley, CA
Group coaching during an evening parent workshop at play-based parent cooperative Broadmoor Preschool
Jen leading a workshop for White parents of 'racialized' children at a special weekend-long Mom's Against Racism (MAR) Canada family retreat on Hornby Island, British Columbia

Your Parenting Mojo acknowledges the Lisjan Ohlone people, the rightful stewards of the land on which we live and work.  While the Lisjan Ohlone people can never be fully compensated for the harms that the legacy of colonialism has wrought, we pay the Shuumi Land Tax as recognition that more than words are needed, and we encourage others to engage meaningfully (including financially) with their local Indigenous communities.
