Community Guidelines & Recording Policy

Welcome to the Beyond The Behavior Group Coaching Calls!

We're excited to have you join our supportive community of parents. To ensure everyone has a supportive experience, please review these guidelines before attending your first call.

 Recording Policy

By registering for these calls, you agree that:

  • All calls are recorded, and some coaching sessions will be edited for publication as episodes of the Your Parenting Mojo podcast
  • Your voice and any stories you share may be included in the published episode (we will blur your image if we use your video so you aren't identifiable)
  • You can change your display name in Zoom if you prefer not to use your real name
  • We'll remind everyone about recording at the start of each call
  • If you don’t speak, you will not appear in the final recording

If you're not comfortable being recorded, please plan to be in listen-only mode.

What These Calls Are (And Aren't)

These calls are designed to:

  • Provide coaching on everyday parenting challenges
  • Help you understand your child's behavior through a feelings and needs lens
  • Support you in finding strategies that work for your family
  • Create a space to practice new approaches to common situations

These calls are not:

  • Therapy or mental health treatment
  • Crisis intervention services
  • Medical or developmental advice
  • Long-term intensive support

     Topics We Can Address

    We welcome questions about:

    • Daily parenting challenges (tantrums, bedtime, meals, etc.)
    • Understanding your child's behavior
    • Your reactions to your child’s behavior
    • Conversations with family members about your parenting approach
    • Sibling conflicts and family dynamics
    • Relationship challenges with other family members related to parenting

           Topics Outside Our Scope

          We cannot provide support for:

          • Child abuse or safety concerns (please contact local authorities or crisis resources)
          • Serious mental health crises (please contact a mental health professional or crisis hotline)
          • Medical or developmental concerns (please consult your child's healthcare provider)
          • Situations requiring immediate intervention

If you share something in these categories, we'll gently redirect you to appropriate resources and continue with topics within our scope.

                 How Participation Works

                Time and Structure:

                • Each 90-minute call typically includes time for 2-3 in-depth coaching conversations or several shorter Q&As
                • We'll do our best to get to everyone who submits a question, but time may not always allow this

                Communication Guidelines:

                • Keep yourself muted when not speaking
                • Use the "raise hand" feature in Zoom when you'd like to share or ask a question
                • Turn your camera on when possible to help create connection
                • Speak from your own experience rather than giving advice to others
                • Try to use feelings and needs language when describing your situation (feelings list | needs list)
                • Be respectful of others' experiences and approaches, even if they differ from your own

                       Creating a Safe Space

                      We ask that you:

                      • Listen without judgment when others share their challenges
                      • Avoid interrupting or talking over others
                      • Keep confidential any personal information shared by other participants
                      • Remember that we're all doing our best with the tools we have

                      We commit to:

                      • Holding space for your challenges without judgment
                      • Redirecting conversations that move outside our scope
                      • Ensuring everyone who wants to participate has an opportunity (within the time available)

                             If You Need Additional Support

Group coaching calls provide valuable support, but they may not address all your parenting challenges. If you find you need more comprehensive help:

                            • For ongoing parenting support: Consider joining the Parenting Membership for deeper exploration of these concepts
                            • For help with getting triggered: Check out the Taming Your Triggers workshop, specifically designed to help parents manage their emotional reactions
                            • For mental health support: We encourage you to connect with a licensed therapist in your area or online
                            • For crisis situations: Contact local emergency services, crisis hotlines, or your healthcare provider

                                   Questions?

If you have questions about these guidelines or what to expect on the calls, please reach out to support@yourparentingmojo.com before attending your first session.

We're looking forward to supporting you and learning together as a community!
