"Jen's coaching is life-changing. Her work has positively impacted my parenting in ways that I had never thought possible.
She has enabled me to get close to parenting in ways that align with my values, and given me incredible insights into my children's (and my own) behaviors, feelings, and needs. I highly recommend working with her!"

“Working with Denise helped me understand time with my kids differently. I still remember when she told me: "The amount of time you spend with your kids doesn't determine if you're a good parent" which I kind of knew, but also didn't before she spelled it out for me.
Denise helped me understand what things are non-negotiable for me to feel good each day (my own self care needs) and have enough of myself to give to my children. She also helped me figure out how to really connect with them, during the time I do have. As a mother of four children, this has been so helpful!”

We came to coaching with Jen feeling beaten down and exhausted because we'd tried a lot of different strategies to help one of our daughters with behavioral and anxiety issues.
The sessions were so valuable...we've done bits of therapy here and there, and Jen is so much more results-oriented. We had run out of tools, and now we have new tools to work with. We feel more positive, because we know what ideas we're going to try next.

How parent coaching works
“Our sessions with Denise helped us to come to a mutual understanding of the foundation from which we choose to raise our family. We got clear on our family goals and our family values, which helps navigate the difficult moments that having two kids under two can bring up.
I notice myself daily come back to our family values and this helps me stay grounded and communicate clearly with the kids. I have also found the process improved our relationship as Denise was so good at holding space for us to have conversations we wouldn’t normally have as a couple.”

Start by considering how you learn best. A self-paced class works if you want to move at your own speed. Live group coaching works if you want to learn alongside other parents. One-on-one sessions work if you want the complexities of your unique situation to be addressed in-depth.
One-on-one coaching covers more than your child's behavior. It can focus on your own patterns, on how you and a partner parent together, or on co-parenting communication if you're separating.
Look for a coach whose approach is grounded in research, not personal opinion. The coach should build a plan around your family instead of handing you someone else's script. And look for someone who sees you as a person with unique strengths that can help you address the challenges you’re facing. Your child's behavior is just one part of the picture.
Parent coaching covers more ground than your child's behavior. We look at what's underneath the behavior you're seeing, and at your own reactions to it, since those are often shaped by how you were parented. If you're coming as a couple, we also look at how you communicate with each other and how you align on family decisions.
Parenting strategies coaching can give you a clearer picture of why your child acts the way they do or help you and a partner communicate more effectively. Your parent coach will respond to your unique situation.
Yes. All behavior is communication - both yours, and your child’s!
When a child hits, melts down, or won't listen, something is going on for them. Their behavior is pointing to a need, often for connection, choice, or play.
Coaching helps you figure out what that need is, and what to do about it, without relying on rewards or punishments to stop the behavior. And then your needs for ease, harmony, and collaboration are met too!
