Since 2015, Jen has helped thousands of parents understand the research behind positive parenting principals and apply these methods in their own families. When she's not neck-deep in research papers preparing for one of 175+ podcast episodes, she is coaching parents to have the ‘aha’ moment that shifts their whole way of thinking about a particular struggle they’re facing related to parenting.

Jen received Bachelor's degrees from Berkeley and a Master's from Yale in subjects related to environmental sustainability...but her path shifted after her daughter was born.  She went back to school for a Master's degree in Psychology (Child Development) and another in Education.

She hosts the 5-Star rated Your Parenting Mojo podcast - named Best Research-Based Parenting Podcast by Lifehacker - and is also a trained Co-Active Coach.

She is the prominent parenting expert focused on an inclusive, whole-child AND whole-parent approach that offers the complete package of support you and your child need.

My child's key temperamental traits are low distractibility and negative mood, which I really struggle with.  I'm a very positive person, and the idea of having a negative view on life seems counterproductive to me.  He often tells me that he's grumpy and just feels "grrr!".  I want to help him snap out of it...but I also want to just let him be him.

He's always been my koala child; separating from me has been extremely difficult for him, so I haven't pushed it yet.

It's now only at three that he's starting to find other people's company appealing.

AFTER
As always with your work, I feel more confident in my interactions with my child as a result of listening to your advice. Now I feel more empowered to set personal boundaries and more confident about setting as few limits as possible (always an effort to override others concerns of my 'permissive' parenting). I am also considering my own needs much more deeply, and also how my body feels when something is not right for me.

I found the workshop hugely beneficial. Thank you. The combination of modules and coaching calls was a really useful way for me to process the information. I also found the fact that I could do the whole thing as audio recordings very practical. I would recommend the full workshop (including the coaching calls) to anyone interested in attuned child interactions.

My relationship with my partner often shifts based on how difficult of a time we're having with our 2-year old son. If he's cooperating and happy, we're good!  If he's whining and having a hard time with everything, we try our best with him, but then we snap at each other.

My child is generally cooperative, but every day at least one of: (1) spiral into 'no' or (2) random crying at the top of his lungs or (3) whining at every step.

My partner and I react quite differently to our son's difficult behavior and sometimes I spiral into a series of triggers not just from our son's difficult behavior, but from how I see my husband trying to placate him instead of setting what I deem should be a limit.

It's been easier than I thought to set boundaries, perhaps because some of my basic needs were not being met: needing to eat for 10 - 15 minutes, uninterrupted, needing to get to bed by a certain time, needing to shower.

Although there's been quite a bit of whining and 'negotiating' on my child's part, I'm actually surprised at how easy it was for me to respond calmly to all his dissatisfaction. He accepted my boundaries every time - he only threw a tantrum once and even that was short (and not nearly as triggering to me as his tantrums usually are).

I'm feeling a lot less anxious as well!

Jen's guidance was such a gift in another course I took with her recently!  I enrolled in the Setting Limits Workshop because I'm curious about the content of setting limits in a loving way in order to further elevate myself as a parent. I'm continuously seeking to improve myself in all aspects of life, especially parenting.

Once I've completed the workshop, I imagine family life will have a peaceful flow. There's more calm energy in our home. Each family member's needs are taken into consideration on a regular basis. There's lots of love and connection. Life is filled with ease, peace and joy.

It's crystal clear to me that having awareness of my children's true needs as well as taking my own needs into consideration is essential to achieving more joy and harmony in my family.

I feel significantly more confident as a parent: more calm and centered. I have more empathy and patience for my children for sure.

I've noticed that both of my children are genuinely more at ease as well.

I'm so grateful for Jen's work, from which I've gained so much valuable knowledge, put it into practice, and been able to set a more peaceful tone in my household.
