Now planning Parenting Beyond Power Workshops for Summer / Fall 2024!

Making a difference has always mattered to me - I used to work in sustainability consulting. But I never dreamed of having a child, creating a podcast (3+ million downloads), coaching parents across continents, writing a book, or being a catalyst for change. I never dreamed I'd be  transforming lives - one parent & family at a time.

On September 5, 2023, my book tour officially kicked off with three months on the road in the Pacific Northwest. Not to just talk about my book, but to host workshops with parents and teachers. To collaborate with others. To make real change, together. We're now home, soaking it all in - and making plans for 2024.
Parenting Beyond Power is more than just ideas & strategies.

The same tools that make parenting easier today can help transform the world tomorrow, so we and our kids show up as our true selves. Witnessing this transformation is a true gift.
THE BOOK TOUR Kickoff
I'm visiting places where parents and teachers of young children meet: preschools, libraries, and conferences for lively workshops that will help you to immediately  implement ideas in the book - because it's not just about ideas, it's about action.

BOOK
TOUR
Kickoff

I'm visiting places where parents and teachers of young children meet: preschools, libraries, and conferences for lively workshops that will help you to immediately  implement ideas in the book - because it's not just about ideas, it's about action.
Your Parenting Mojo listeners and members really showed up for the book tour. You invited us into your homes, into your classrooms, we became a part of your communities.

Together we are that ripple of change - helping ourselves, our families, & our communities. The message, tools & strategies found in Parenting Beyond Power are having a more profound impact than I could have ever imagined.
The book tour started in August 2023 in Boulder County, Colorado, Vancouver, B.C., Seattle, WA and Portland, OR.

Where would you like to see us in 2024?
New Release!
Short Documentary:
A Peek into Treehouse Learning in Boulder County, CO and the impact of Parenting Beyond Power in the classroom & beyond

The book tour started in Boulder County, Colorado with multiple days of teacher, parent & community workshops. We took the opportunity to sit down with Amy Benson May, 2nd generation owner and founding family member of Treehouse Learning Early Childhood Education to discuss how ideas in the book help shape both her life inside and outside of the classroom.

When the book tour became real, I knew I wanted to use it as a platform to raise other voices, share ideas, collaborate and learn from each other.

I am honored and thankful for the amazing humans that were our panelists in Vancouver and Seattle, those that joined us in person for the important discussions, the pieces of themselves each person shared - and for the all the work behind the scenes by my wonderful community that helped to make it happen.
I hope the insights and ideas we shared at the live events will continue to ignite connection & collaboration when the recordings are ready for release.
Coming in 2024:
Video Replays of Culture TALKS Vancouver & Seattle

Legendary activists and thinkers in each location came together to discuss how we're all affected by big social forces like White supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism.  We shared ideas, built community, and imagined a world in which all people are truly respected.

Special Interview with Moms Against Racism (MAR) Canada Founder, Kerry Cavers

Jen and Kerry connected through the Culture TALKS Vancouver event, and immediately discovered the connections across their very different life experiences.

The morning after the panel event, Kerry shared what it's like growing up (and currently living in) a multi-racial family, why she started MAR Canada and how each of us can play a role in a truly anti-racist world.
Make sure to join our email list - we hope to share the special replays of Culture TALKS Vancouver and Seattle here and on our YouTube Channel in early 2024.

We're now planning

Summer / Fall
Parenting Beyond Power Workshops

Online & in person options for parents and teachers available

Parenting Beyond Power parent and teacher workshops during the book tour kickoff (Boulder County Colorado, Vancouver BC, Seattle and Portland) in the Fall of 2023 were such a resounding success that I will continue to offer them in 2024!

Whether you are a part of a preschool looking to provide your parent and teacher community with tools & strategies to make parenting and life in the classroom easier, or in early elementary education and searching for meaningful ways to integrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) learning into your programming for 2024 - I promise that there is hope, and together we can make a difference.

We are currently working to provide more information on Parenting Beyond Power 'In the Classroom' here online, but until then please feel free to reach out for more information & to plan your event(s).
While in person workshops are ideal, I want to bring these tools to as many families as possible - so I'll also offer online workshops when this is the most appropriate option.

  • "Our preschool was honored to have Jen Lumanlan at our Parent Education night. Jen is a master teacher: approachable, knowledgeable, accepting, and FUN! Her message is clear and her parenting framework is a tool that can be used with children, but also with adults and parents at our school. We are excited to put it to use in our community. Thanks Jen!"

    KACIA
    Director, Broadmoor Preschool

  • "Jen has an incredible ability to span BIG ideas down to small, step-by-step, practical strategies while simultaneously providing opportunity for reflection and self-learning. I left the workshop feeling strengthened in my ability to approach difficult situations, having a better understanding of the play between children's needs and my own, with a deeper awareness of the connections between White Supremacy, patriarchy and capitalism in my relationships and teaching practice."

    GRETCHEN
Director of Curriculum & Development, ICRI & Hearts Leap Programs

  • "Thank you for a great workshop last night. You have an amazing insight and empathy that helps get to the heart of difficulties and I saw you pivot and help shape people's responsiveness and shift perspectives. You're doing important work, and I'm grateful."

    AMY, Parent

  • "I have three children in co-op preschools so I've done a lot of parent training. This was by far and away the best!"
