Record the Your Parenting Mojo
Intro and Outro!
Want to be part of the podcast? Choose one of the scripts below (or write your own), hit record, and read the script.
For best sound quality: Use a wired headset if you have one.
Want to write your own? Go for it! In a minute or less (30 seconds for an outro), tell listeners what Your Parenting Mojo does and why they should tune in. Keep it clean (parents listen with kids around) and feel free to bring your sense of humor if you'd like!
You'll get to review your recording before submitting, and you can re-record if necessary.
Once you've recorded your intro, scroll down to record your outro!
The fine print:
By submitting your recording on this page, you're agreeing to grant Your Parenting Mojo permission to use your submission. Use of this submission may include reworking and editing it, and sharing it in any manner or medium, including but not limited to in the creation and promotion of podcast episodes, and that you are 18 years or older and have the right to grant these rights to Your Parenting Mojo.
Option 1: Join a Beyond the Behavior call
Hi - I'm [insert your name and city], and you're listening to the Your Parenting Mojo podcast with Jen Lumanlan. [Not sure how to pronounce 'Lumanlan'? Hear me say it at namedrop.io/jenlumanlan]
Before you hear today's episode, I want to tell you about the FREE Beyond the Behavior coaching calls that Jen offers. Every second Wednesday of the month from 9 to 10:30am Pacific.
If you're struggling with your kid's behavior right now - getting out the door in the morning, bedtime battles, sibling fighting, and so on - these calls are for you. Register at yourparentingmojo.com/beyondthebehavior and you'll get reminders before the call each month and you can decide whether you'd like to join.
You can get coached directly by Jen if you want. She'll help you figure out what feelings and needs are driving the difficult behavior and help you devise strategies that work for your family. Or you might be surprised how much you can learn from hearing other parents get coached.
[If you want to say ONE SENTENCE about how being coached by me or watching me coach others has helped you, please feel free to add it here.]
The calls are totally free! Register at yourparentingmojo.com/beyondthebehavior.
[Next Step: Record an outro. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to record.]
Option 2: Parenting Membership is Available Year-Round
I'm [insert your name and city] and this is Your Parenting Mojo with Jen Lumanlan. [Not sure how to pronounce 'Lumanlan'? Hear me say it at namedrop.io/jenlumanlan]
I've got news about the Parenting Membership - instead of opening once a year, it's now available for enrollment year-round. When you hit a challenge, you can get help right then.
Members get the full versions of podcast episodes and Beyond the Behavior coaching call recordings. New podcast episodes are 20 minute snippets or summaries - the full recordings have way more detail and examples to help you apply the ideas in your family. You also get monthly content, access to an awesome community, and monthly group coaching calls with Jen.
[If you're in the Parenting Membership, feel free to add ONE SENTENCE ONLY about how it has helped you.]
If you've been thinking "The ideas on the podcast sound great, but how do I actually do this with my kid?" - that's what the membership is for. Learn more at yourparentingmojo.com/parentingmembership.
Option 3: The Free Resource Library
Hi - I'm [your name] from [your city/area/etc.], and this is Your Parenting Mojo with Jen Lumanlan. [Not sure how to pronounce 'Lumanlan'? Hear me say it at namedrop.io/jenlumanlan]
I want to make sure you know about the FREE Your Parenting Mojo Resource Library. Over the years, Jen has created over thirty free tools for specific challenges - checklists for touring preschools, scripts for managing screen time, ways to support your preschooler in learning math and reading, and so much more. They used to be scattered all over the Your Parenting Mojo website, but now they're all in one place, waiting for you to download them!
When you're facing a challenge and need a quick tool, you can find what you need without hunting around. Some resources help with big decisions, others help with everyday struggles. They're all waiting for you at yourparentingmojo.com/library. That's yourparentingmojo.com/library.
Option 4: Free Quizzes
Hi - I'm [your name] from [your city/area/etc.], and this is Your Parenting Mojo with Jen Lumanlan. [Not sure how to pronounce 'Lumanlan'? Hear me say it at namedrop.io/jenlumanlan]
Did you know that Jen has two FREE quizzes that can help you understand what's really going on when parenting gets hard?
The first one helps you figure out what your child actually needs when their behavior is driving you up the wall. When your kid is whining, refusing to cooperate, or melting down, they're trying to tell you something. This quiz helps you decode what that is. When you meet their needs more often, your needs for peace and ease get met more often too.
[If you've taken the quiz, you could add ONE SENTENCE like: "I learned my child needs a ton of X (connection, autonomy, etc.), and now we meet that need more regularly by doing things like A and B, our relationship is now much more joyful.]
The second quiz helps you understand why certain behaviors trigger you so strongly. When your child expresses emotions you learned to hide, or asserts boundaries you learned to ignore, your body remembers and reacts. This quiz helps you see how your childhood patterns show up in your parenting today.
[If you've taken the quiz, feel free to share ONE SENTENCE on something you learned that was useful to you.]
Both quizzes are totally free at yourparentingmojo.com/quiz. That's yourparentingmojo.com/quiz.
Option 5: Script your own intro!
In a minute or less, tell us who you are, what Your Parenting Mojo does, who might want to listen, and what they'll get out of it. (Please keep it free of profanity and anything else that might be considered offensive...parents often listen to the show with their child in the room.)
We can't promise we'll use what you submit, but we'll strongly consider it. We do have a sense of humor (the drier the better) so feel free to use yours as well! The recording widget will let you record for 60 seconds.
Option 1: Join a Beyond the Behavior call
If this episode hit home and you need help right now, come to one of Jen's free Beyond the Behavior coaching calls. They happen every second Wednesday from 9 to 10:30am Pacific. Get coached directly or just listen and learn. Register at yourparentingmojo.com/beyondthebehavior.
Option 2: Parenting Membership
If you're wondering how to use these ideas with your own kid, the Parenting Membership can help. It's now available anytime! Get full podcast episodes and coaching call recordings, monthly content to help you with your child, access to an awesome community, and monthly group coaching calls with Jen. Learn more at yourparentingmojo.com/parentingmembership.
Option 3: Resource Library
And don't forget that over 30 free resources Jen has created for you are now in one place at yourparentingmojo.com/library. There are checklists, scripts, worksheets for common parenting challenges, and so much more. Go grab whatever looks helpful at yourparentingmojo.com/library.
Option 4: Quizzes
And just one last reminder: If you're feeling confused about what your child's difficult behavior is trying to tell you, or why you keep getting so triggered, take the free quizzes at yourparentingmojo.com/quiz. Both give you personalized results right away.
Option 5: Script your own outro!
In 30 seconds or less, thank listeners for listening and say something nice about Jen or the show, encouraging listeners to subscribe or donate if you'd like. They can do both of these things from any episode page on YourParentingMojo.com. (Please keep it free of profanity and anything else that might be considered offensive...parents often listen to the show with their child in the room.)
We can't promise we'll use what you submit, but we'll strongly consider it. We do have a sense of humor (the drier the better) so feel free to use yours as well! The recording widget will let you record for 90 seconds but please keep it to 30 seconds for the outro or we might have to cut you off mid-sentence.
