Consent is more than knowing the words “no means no.”
Years before children are old enough to date, they are learning how to be with other people: how to express what they want, notice another person’s response, handle disappointment, and repair harm when they get something wrong.

In this free workshop, you’ll learn how to help your child begin developing the skills that underlie consent:
Speak up about what they do and don’t want Ask before touching, taking, joining in, or continuing Hear “no,” “stop,” or “not right now” without arguing, bargaining, or pushing Notice other people’s words, faces, and body language Cope when they don’t get what they want Make things right after they have hurt someone or crossed a boundary Speak up about what they do and don’t want Ask before touching, taking, joining in, or continuing Hear “no,” “stop,” or “not right now” without arguing, bargaining, or pushing Notice other people’s words, faces, and body language Cope when they don’t get what they want Make things right after they have hurt someone or crossed a boundary
You’ll leave with a clearer picture of what consent can look like for a child aged 1–10—and practical language and everyday opportunities to help them learn.

  Your Host: Jen Lumanlan

I'm Jen Lumanlan, host of the Your Parenting Mojo podcast (4M+ downloads, named Best Research-Based Parenting Podcast by Lifehacker) and author of Parenting Beyond Power. I hold master's degrees in Psychology and Education.

I’ve read over 10,000 books and academic articles, and translate them into tools you can use.

As a Co-Active Coach, I’ll listen to you in a way that most parents tell me they've never experienced before.

From there, I draw on extensive training on working with neurodivergent families (including ADHD, Autism, and PDA), trauma & parts work, and couples' communication to help you build strategies that work for your specific family.
